Behati Prinsloo is a Namibian model who has a net worth of $30 million. Prinsloo has walked the runway for such high-profile designers as Miu Miu, Prada, and Chanel, and she has appeared in ads for Adore, Chanel, H&M, Hugo Boss, Max Studio, Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, and Nine West, among many others. She has graced the covers of numerous fashion magazines, including "Marie Claire South Africa," "GQ Mexico," "Vogue Russia," "Elle France," and "Net-A-Porter." Behati has also walked the runway multiple times for Victoria's Secret, and she became an official Victoria's Secret Angel in 2009.

Early Life

Behati Prinsloo was born on May 16, 1988, in Grootfontein, South Africa, (now Namibia). Her mother, Magda, runs a bed and breakfast, and her father, Boet, is a minister. Behati's native language is Afrikaans, but she learned English during her youth. Prinsloo attended Grootfontein Secondary School and dropped out after Grade 9 to pursue a modeling career. At age 16, she was discovered in a grocery store while visiting Cape Town with her grandparents. Behati told "Fashionista" magazine, "This guy came up to me and asked if I was a model and wrote his number on a piece of paper and my grandfather was like this is so shady. So we went home and told my parents about it and never did anything." She stated that the next time she visited Cape Town, she was approached by Noelle Doukas, the daughter of Storm Agency founder Sarah Doukas, which led to Behati signing with the agency.

Career

In 2006, Prinsloo made her runway debut as a Prada/Miu Miu exclusive, and Models.com named her one of the top 10 new faces of Fashion Week. She was soon photographed by Juergen Teller for Marc by Marc Jacobs, which was Behati's first ad campaign. Paolo Roversi and Mario Testino then photographed her for "British Vogue," and David Sims photographed her for "W Magazine." In 2007, she walked in her first Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and has gone on to walk in eight more. In 2008, Prinsloo was the face of Victoria Secret's Pink casualwear line, and she became a Victoria's Secret Angel the following year. In 2010, she designed a swimsuit collection, "Behati Loves Pink," for Victoria's Secret, and she has also designed a denim collection for THVM and a line of clothing and accessories for Juicy Couture. Besides her modeling work, Behati has appeared in the Maroon 5 music videos "Animals," "Cold," "Wait" (Snapchat version)," "Girls Like You," and "Lost" as well as videos by The Virgins ("Rich Girls") and Selena Gomez ("Hands to Myself"). Prinsloo guest-starred on "Hawaii Five-0" in 2012, and she has appeared on the TV shows "The City" (2008) and "Fashion Police" (2014) and the concert film "Taylor Swift: The 1989 World Tour Live" (2015).

Personal Life

After two years of dating, Behati married Adam Levine, the lead vocalist of Maroon 5, on July 19, 2014. Actor Jonah Hill officiated the wedding, which took place in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Prinsloo and Levine welcomed daughter Dusty Rose on September 21, 2016, followed by Gio Grace on February 15, 2018. After the 2010 earthquake that devastated Haiti, Behati and fellow model Coco Rocha visited the country in partnership with the charity LakayPam. They helped raise money, visited orphanages, and delivered letters of hope from people all over the world, and their trip was documented in the 2011 film "Letters to Haiti." In July 2020, Prinsloo and Levine teamed up with Save the Children and Ferrari to raise money for the charitable organization's education programs offering "free learning resources and support for parents and caregivers" during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Real Estate

In 2019, Adam and Behati paid $31.95 million for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles. Affleck and Garner bought the approximately 8,800 square foot home from producer Brian Grazer, and the property was formerly owned by Gregory Peck. Adam and Behati listed this mansion for sale in March 2022 for $57.5 million:

Less than a year before buying the above home, Adam and Behati purchased a Beverly Hills home for $33.9 million.

In March 2021 Adam and Behati paid $22.7 million for a spectacular estate in Montecito, California set on five acres. Amazingly they sold the property just three months later for $28.5 million, a nearly $6 million gain for 90 days of ownership.

In March of 2022 Adam and Behati paid $52 million for another mansion in Montecito that was originally built by actor Rob Lowe. Known as "Oakview," the 3.5-acre property was purchased by Lowe in 2005. Lowe and his wife proceeded to build the current 10,000 square-foot mansion. Construction was complete in 2009. The Lowes listed the home for sale in June 2018 for $47 million. They ultimately sold it to a private equity tycoon for $45.5 million in October 2000. Adam and Behati purchased the home from the private equity tycoon.
