What is Michael Medved's Net Worth?
Michael Medved is an American talk radio host, author, political commentator and film critic who had a net worth of $35 million. Born October 3, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his nationally syndicated talk show, The Michael Medved Show, airs throughout the U.S. on Salem Radio Network, a Christian talk, music and secular news/talk programming network. For ten consecutive years, Medved has been listed by Talkers magazine as one of its "Heavy Hundred" most important American talk show hosts, and he recently tied eighth place in Talkers' ranking of talk hosts by audience size. He has authored a dozen books and continues his screenwriting, as well as his work in film and television miniseries.
He is a member of the Writers Guild of America and also collaborated with his brother Harry Medved on four satirical books about movies: The Fifty Worst Films of All Time (1979), The Golden Turkey Awards (1980), The Hollywood Hall of Shame 1984) and Son of the Golden Turkey Awards (1986). Of Jewish descent, Medved played a prominent role in the movie-related controversy over Mel Gibson's film The Passion of Christ (2004), which Medved defended, but when Gibson was arrested for a DUI in 2006, Medved stated that he felt "betrayed" by Gibson's anti-semitic remarks and urged Gibson to seek reconciliation with the Jewish community. Medved is married to Diane Elvenstar, who converted to Orthodox Judaism, and they have three children.
