Hugh O'Brian was born in Rochester, New York in April 1925. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and became the youngest Marine drill instructor at the age of 17. He then moved to Los Angeles, California. O'Brian had over 100 acting credits to his name starting with the movie Kidnapped in 1948. His best known role came starring as Wyatt Earp in the TV series The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp from 1955 to 1961. From 1972 to 1973 O'Brian starred as Hugh Lockwood in the TV series Search Control. He also starred in the movies Little Big Horn, On the Loose, The Battle at Apache Pass, The Cimarron Kid, Son of Ali Baba, Red Ball Express, The Lawless Breed, Meet Me at the Fair, Seminole, The Man from the Alamo, Back to God's Country, There's No Business Like Show Business, Come Fly with Me, Love Has Many Faces, Ten Little Indians, Ambush Bay, Killer Force, The Shootist, Doin' Time on Planet Earth, and Twins.
O'Brian won a Golden Globe Award in 1954 for Most Promising Newcomer – Male for The Man from the Alamo. He won a Golden Boot Award in 1991 and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960 at 6613 Hollywood Blvd.
