What is Chris Cuomo's net worth and salary?

Chris Cuomo is an American television journalist who has a net worth of $12 million. Chris Cuomo is best known for being the former host of Cuomo Prime Time, a weeknight news analysis show that aired on CNN until its cancellation in December 2021. Cuomo is the brother of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and son of the late New York Governor Mario Cuomo. Chris was fired by CNN on December 5, 2021, in the wake of allegations that he used his position and resources at CNN to investigate women who had accused his brother of sexual harassment. At the time of his firing, Cuomo Prime Time was the highest-rated show on CNN, though it was not nearly the highest-rated prime-time cable news show. He has since joined Nexstar Media Group to host Cuomo for NewsNation.

Salary & Contract Lawsuit

Chris Cuomo's salary at CNN was $6 million per year. Soon after being fired by CNN, Chris was reported to be preparing an $18 million lawsuit against the network. That amount represented the remainder of his CNN contract ($6 million per year * three years) at the time of his firing. In February 2022, it was reported that Chris was preparing a $60 million lawsuit against CNN. The increased figure reportedly represented the amount Chris could have earned at CNN even beyond his remaining three year contract. A month later, it was reported that Chris was seeking more than $100 million from his former network.

Andrew discussed New York's response to the coronavirus outbreak and noted the possibility of implementing a curfew to keep residents inside."I don't like the word curfew. Dad tried to have a curfew for me and I never got past the resentment," Andrew said. Chris replied: "That was the least of your problems, your problems with the curfew. Just so you know." After a back-and-forth banter, Chris said: "…no matter how hard you're working, there's always time to call mom. She wants to hear from you. Just so you know."
