Zarakh Iliev is a Russian real estate tycoon who has a net worth of $3.8 billion. Zarakh Iliev was born Zarakh Binsionovich Iliev on September 8, 1966 in Krasnava Sloboda village, Azerbaijan. He sewed hats since childhood, helping his father Bension, a shoemaker. After moving to Moscow in 1983, at the age of 17, Iliev began selling alcohol. Later on, he teamed up with Nisanov, and they got involved in building and developing shopping centers near metro centers, which later grew into huge retailer centers.
He launched his company Iliev in 1993, managing 15 hectares of Moscow's Cherkizovsky market. Several years later, Iliev gained 57% of wholesale-retail shopping center "Moscow", a former Lablino's ball-bearing factory that was transformed into trading market center "Moscow" with 200 000- square meters area. Moreover, Iliev is the co-owner of Radisson Royal Ukraine Hotel, European Shopping Center and Radisson SAS Slavyanskaya Hotel, as well as several huge shopping centers placed in Moscow's suburbs. Many other development projects are in progress, including two oceanariums, one of which will be the largest in Eastern Europe, and it will be placed in VDNKh, a huge exhibition center in Moscow.
