Charles Wyly was an American entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist who had a net worth of $1 billion. He joined the billionaires' club along with his younger brother Samuel Wyly, with whom he pursued business affairs. The two were often referred to as the "Wyly brothers". Initially, Charles Wyly helped his brother, Samuel, establish and run a startup computer software company, University Computing, after which the two set up and led several other companies including arts and crafts retail chain Michaels Stores Inc.
