What is Carrie Perrodo's Net Worth?
Carrie Perrodo is a French businesswoman and billionaire who has a net worth of $9 billion, a fortune that she shares with her extremely wealthy family and makes her one of the 10 richest people in France.
Today she's known throughout the business world as the widow of oil tycoon Hubert Perrodo, but Singapore native Ka Yee (Carrie) Wong was already enjoying worldwide fame as a top model when she first encountered her husband-to-be Hubert sometime back in the 1970s. Not too long after the two met, they fell in love, got married and started to build an enormous wealth between the two of them. Back in those days, Perrodo was busy traveling throughout the world drilling for oil and gas, while Carrie was thinking of launching her own business within the modeling industry in which she had already had significant success. Thus, Perrodo established Perenco, an oil company, and Carrie set up her own modeling agency called Carrie's Models, which is still in operation, albeit no longer under her lead, as Carrie sold the agency several years ago.
As for Parenco, it continues to be a family business and has annual revenues estimated to be about $6 billion, as well as global far-flung operations in the likes of Gabon, Peru and Nigeria. The Perrodo couple has led a life you'd pretty much expect, filled with riches and pleasures. A keen polo player and fine wine appreciator, it all came to an end when Perrodo lost his life on a 2006 hiking expedition in the Alps. Even though it's not clear whether his real estate has finally been settled, the entire fortune is expected to be passed down to Carrie and their three children Francois, Nathalie and Bertrand. Perenco is now chaired by Francois, whereas Nathalie oversees the wine investments. In spite of being French nationals, the family runs the business from London.
