Belonging to the first generation of entrepreneurs with self-made fortunes, Alexander Putilov is now a co-owner of Eurasia Drilling Company, a provider of onshore drilling services in Russia. Before he fully embarked on his professional career, Putilov earned his Bachelor degree from Tyumen Industrial Institute, where he also majored in machinery and equipment of oil and gas fields. Upon graduation, he first worked as a repairman and after a while he became a deputy head of a plant shop. Next, he climbed up the corporate ladder as he took charge of the production as a chief mechanic.
At a higher point in his career, Putilov was a deputy director of Surgut drilling operation, as well as he headed Krasnoleninsk and Urai's management of drilling operations. Also serving as the President of state-owned oil company Rosneft, from 1993 to 1998, he went on to become appointed as a special representative of British Petroleum / Amoco in the oil company Sidanko.
