He is best known for being a member of the Australian rock band The Easybeats. He was a guitarist with the band The Starfighters. The Easybeats formed in Sydney in 1964 and disbanded in 1969. They are known as the greatest Australian pop band of the 1960s and were looked at as Australia's answer to the Beatles.
Their debut studio album Easy was released in 1965 and reached #4 in Australia. The Easybeats had #1 singles in Australia with the songs "Easyfever", "Sorry", and "Friday On My Mind". After The Easybeats, Vanda formed Vanda & Young with George Young.
