Turgay Ciner currently owns the Ciner Media Group, a corporate company that manages mass media like the Internet, movies, publishing, radio and television. But that's not all as his business empire also includes hotels, aluminum, copper and soda ash mines and electric power plants. The company currently owns the world´s largest soda ash reserve. Turgay Ciner also shows his interest in sport affairs, especially football, and owns the "Kasımpaşa Spor Kulübü". Kasımpaşa, which was founded in 1921, is one of the oldest football clubs in Turkey. Turgay Ciner was born on 1 March 1956 at Artvin's Hopa. He started his business career as a real estate agent, selling land in Hopa region. During his school and college days, he was very much interested in auto spare parts marketing business. Ciner began his first business venture in 1984 by exporting Mercedes cars to Germany.
