Richelieu Dennis is a Liberian American businessman and entrepreneur who has a net worth of $350 million. Richelieu Dennis is the Chief Experience Officer of Sundial Brands. His grandmother in Sierra Leone would make and sell natural skin and hair care products. Dennis came to America for college and could not return home because his country was in a civil war. In 1991 he co-founded a company called Sundial Brands along with his mother Mary Dennis and his roommate Nyema Tubman.
They started out making soap in their apartment in Queens. They eventually grew into a personal care powerhouse that catered to African American customers. In 2018 Richard sold Sundial to Unilever for $1.6 billion. Richard and his mother owned 51% of the company at the time of sale. That meant around $850 million before taxes to the duo, roughly $300 million per person after taxes.
