He was a forward who started his senior career for Guadalajara in 1953. He played there until 1967 and scored 122 goals. Reyes next played for the Los Angeles Toros from 1967 to 1968. He then played for Laguna F.C. and San Luis. With Guadalajara Reyes won seven championships.
He also won the campeon de goleo (Goal scorer champion) with Guadalajara. Reyes was also a manager and managed San Luis, Atleticos Campesions, UANL, and Serranos de Teziutlan.
