Rocco Baldelli is an American former major league baseball outfielder and designated hitter who has a net worth of $3 million. Rocco Baldelli was born September 25, 1981 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Known for his size and speed and, in reference to his hometown, Baldelli was nicknamed The Woonsocket Rocket early in his professional career. During his senior year at Bishop Hendricken High School, he pulled his oblique muscle, but still managed to hit .531-5-13 with nine steals in only 32 at-bats. Not only did Baldelli excel at sports but he did well in the classroom, where he posted a 4.25 grade point average. On the SAT, he scored a very high 1300 and considered University of North Carolina, Wake Forest University, Princeton and Yale as potential colleges.
He was also a four-sport star, earning all-state honors in baseball, indoor track, basketball and volleyball. During his a subsequent career in minor league baseball, he won the Baseball American Minor League Player of the Year Award. His major league debut came in 2003. Baldelli played for the Tampa Bay Rays 2003-09 then moved to the Boston Red Sox for one season (2009). He returned to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010, but a mysterious metabolic/muscular disorder led to numerous injuries and forced Baldelli to retire as a player at the early age of 29. He currently works in the Tampa Bay Rays' office.
