File this one under "Celebrities Leaving Paradise." Tyler Perry, the man behind the oversized Madea glasses and prolific movie and television production company has listed his 17-acre estate in the Buckhead section of Atlanta for $25 million.
The entertainment Jack of All Trades, and master of stage plays, also thought of everything for the elegant property he has called home since he bought it in 2005, and finished building it around 2007. Sotheby's International Realty describes the palatial estate as the most compelling private home ever listed for sale in the Buckhead market. They could be right. The mansion has prime frontage along the Chattahoochee River, a park-like atmosphere and all the details that offer serenity and excitement at the same time.
Formal and informal gardens invite walking, chatting or sitting quietly to mark up a new script, and if guests or occupants want to turn up the workouts a few beats, there is a tennis court atop a two-level parking garage, a full gym in the main mansion, and an infinity edge swimming pool. It's easy to see why Sotheby's called the property compelling, and not just because of the expansive, four-tiered backyard area that look like the perfect staging areas for parties or weddings. A few of the Tyler Perry Studios productions were filmed on the property.
The mansion offers seven bedrooms, nine full bathrooms and five half bathrooms, a library, office and modern kitchen with enough space and state-of-the-art equipment to design lavish affairs for hundreds of guests. Intricate detailing also abounds throughout the home, but none of them are overdone. Not the landscaping, the tile mosaic on the floor of the pool, the custom chandeliers, the Romanesque colonnade, mural in the dining room, or the ceiling art in the office.
