Comedian and actor Tracy Morgan's personal life is apparently as busy as his professional one. Not only will he be back on Saturday Night Live in October, but he also just married his longtime girlfriend, and bought a two-acre, $13.9 million property in Alpine, NJ.
The crown jewel of the estate is a 22-room mansion with seven bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. This ought to be the perfect place for Morgan and his new wife, Megan Wollover, to hunker down while Morgan continues to recover from life-threatening injuries he sustained in a tragic vehicular accident in June of 2014.
At first sight, the mansion looks like a traditional Georgian colonial on the exterior, with a winding driveway that leads to a front motor court. There is room for several more cars around the back of the house. The interior offers a litany of modern comforts, all of them grand. It begins at the reception hall with the double-height ceiling, a herringbone pattern wood floor under a custom crystal chandelier, and a ceiling dome. After that, pick a sitting room, any sitting room in the common area of the first floor. Balancing comfort and grandeur, the house offers several areas where a family or party guests can gather for long evenings in front of one of the numerous fireplaces.
A rear stairway opens onto an area that would easily serve as a grand foyer for a much smaller house. It even has marble floors and columns that frame the entrance to another sitting room. The kitchen is a welcoming place, too – sunny, with a breakfast area flooded with natural light, and a prep island to keep a busy chef engaged with everyone else in the room.
A screening room offers seating for three, and couples can gather for bowling night at the two-lane bowling alley in the house, too. Tracy Morgan might have a long way to go to heal completely, but at least he has a new house and a new wife to make the process easier.
