Baseball Hall of Famer and broadcaster John Smoltz has listed an extremely impressive property on his long-time home turf in Georgia for sale with a listing price of $5.2 million. And as you might expect of the sprawling estate of a sports legend, it's got plenty of outdoor athletic amenities, the highlight of which is the property's very own baseball field.
The hopefully soon-to-be-former Smoltz mansion was built for Smoltz back in 2002, and TMZ reports he's tried to sell it in the past but is now newly motivated to find a buyer. The 18,384-square-foot mansion sits on more than 19 acres and has 10 bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and four half-baths. And a lot of those 19 acres are given over to those amazing outdoor "resort backyard" features, including the baseball field and space for basketball, football, soccer, and even golf – plus a swimming pool, of course, as well as a fishing pond. Simply put, almost anything you might want to do outside can be done here.
The property's official listing goes on:
"Home is perfect for family and friends or for entertaining on a large scale. Built with the finest materials and custom design, the home provides plenty of room for large crowds or for small gatherings."
Inside the mansion is a sturdy living and working space, albeit probably not as striking as all the outdoor features. The most intriguing part of the home is the so-called "gentlemans study," found on the home's main level along with the master suite. Then there's the second level:
"5 secondary ensuite bedrooms, an au par suite, and a bonus room / office above the detached garage. There are double gates for total privacy and security and an 8 car garage with gated parking court."
