If you're in the market for a deluxe penthouse in Miami Beach, Mansion Global reports that a new one is about to hit the market. It's perched on top of a nine-story .luxury apartment building at 321 Ocean Drive, and purported to be "[t]he only full floor oceanfront penthouse in South Beach" according to its prior marketing materials.
The home is the property of billionaire Cliff Asness, who bought the penthouse for $26 million back in May of last year. As the story goes, once he was done making some improvements, he decided he wanted something bigger, so back for sale it goes. That will mean a place that has more than the 6,807 square feet of living space. This penthouse has stacked on two stories, which doesn't count the additional 6,400 square feet worth of terraces and rooftop patios. Also outside is an infinity pool, kitchen, and fire pit. And the location is no slouch either, according to its official listing:
"321 Ocean is a boutique building composed of 21 luxury residences. Each home is a unique creation in an intimate and breathtaking setting combining urban sophistication with an exquisite beachfront location steps from the premiere entertainment, dining and culture of South Beach."
The penthouse also comes with "hardwood flooring, an open gourmet kitchen & 360 degree views through floor to ceiling windows," which you can see in the video below courtesy of Miami1:
This penthouse has bounced around quite a bit in terms of price even before construction on the condo was completed in 2014. At that time, it was reportedly purchased by media businessman Boris Jordan, who bought it "off the floor plan" for $20 million, attempting to flip it for $53 million in December of the following year. By the time Asness bought it, its price had dropped to $35 million, against which he was able to get an additional discount of $9 million.
