How much would you spend on your kid's wedding? If you're Russian oil magnate Mikhail Gutsuriev, it's upwards of $1 billion. Yes, you read that right – billion. Gutsuriev, who is worth $6.2 billion, insisted he pay for the entire lavish, star-studded event, from the designer wedding dress to the A-list entertainment.
Gutseriev's son, Said, said "I do" to Kadija Uzhakhovs in late March, while 600 of their closest family and friends watched. According to Business Insider, the groom, 28, works as a director for one of his father's businesses, while the bride, 20, is a dentistry student at Moscow University. The wedding took place in an upscale banquet hall called Safisa in Moscow.
So what kind of wedding does $1 billion buy you? The kind with excellent entertainment. Several high-profile celebrities performed, including Jennifer Lopez, Sting, and Enrique Iglesias. According to Stylist, the Russian media is speculating that Beyoncé and Elton John also sang at the wedding.

In addition to the live music, a serious chunk of change was dropped on the bride's custom Ellie Saab gown, which was imported from Paris. The dress, which was encrusted with beads and embroidery, is estimated to have cost upwards of $26 thousand alone. It was so heavy with fabric and beading that the bride needed help walking around.

Gutsuriev also spared no expense when it came to the decorations. The luxury banquet hall was transformed into a fairy-tale garden with flowers carpeting the entire space – including the walls, pillars, and even the ceiling.

Although no estimate of the cost was given, the cake was also an opulent masterpiece, spanning nine-tiers and covered in white and pink flowers.
