Erik Compton is a Norwegian-American professional golfer who has a net worth of $3 million. Erik Harald Hoie Compton was born in Miami, Florida in November 1971. At nine years old he was diagnosed with the heart muscle condition viral cardiomyopathy. Compton has had two heart transplants, one at the age of 12 and the second in 2008. He received the Ben Hogan Award at the Masters Tournament at Augusta, Georgia in 2009 for a golfer that has stayed active despite a physical handicap or illness. Compton has also gained notoriety for attempted to use a golf card in PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour events. Erik graduated from the University of Georgia and became pro in 2001.
He has played on the Nationwide Tour and Canadian Tour. He won the Mexico Open on the Nationwide Tour in 2011.
