What is Prince Royce's Net Worth?

Prince Royce is an American singer-songwriter and record producer who has a net worth of $20 million. Prince Royce first gained worldwide stardom in 2010 thanks to his two hit singles, "Stand by Me" and "Corazón Sin Cara." Since music caught his interest at an early age, Royce had been already experimenting with tunes and writing poetry in his teens. By the time he turned nineteen, Royce met his future manager Andrés Hidalgo, the founder of 2Strong Entertainment. Actually, it was Hidalgo that introduced Royce to Sergio George, who immediately signed him to his independent label, Top Stop Music. In March of 2010, Royce saw the release of his eponymous debut studio album, which spawned his breakthrough hits "Stand by Me" and "Corazón Sin Cara." Both singles topped the Billboard Tropical Songs chart, while the latter also reached number-one on the US Hot Latin Songs chart. The album, which was chart-topping itself, won three awards at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2011, including Tropical Album of the Year. He has released a number of commercially successful albums since then, including "Phase II," "Soy el Mismo," "FIVE," and "Alter Ego." Royce has collaborated with many major artists over the years, such as Shakira, Snoop Dogg, and Pitbull.

Early Life

Prince Royce, whose real name is Geoffrey Royce Rojas, was born on May 11, 1989 in the Bronx borough of New York City. He is the second oldest of four children born to Dominican parents Ángela and Ramón. As a child, Royce sang in his elementary school choir and competed in talent shows. When he was 13, he started writing poetry, which eventually evolved into songwriting.

Career Beginnings

At the age of 15, Royce began making music with his friend José Chusán. Not long after that, he started making music with Vincent Outerbridge and record producer Donzell Rodríguez. When he was 19, Royce met producer Andrés Hidalgo, who became his manager. Hidalgo helped him develop his focus on bachata music, and later introduced him to producer Sergio George. Impressed by his demos, George immediately signed Royce to his label Top Stop Music.

Commercial Breakthrough

In March of 2010, Royce released his self-titled debut album. A commercial success, it debuted at number 16 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, and eventually made it to number one. The album was supported by four singles, including a cover of "Stand by Me" and "Corazón Sin Cara," the latter of which went on to become the best-performing Latin song in 2011. That year, the album itself was certified triple Platinum by the RIAA.

Further Albums

Royce released his second studio album, "Phase II," in 2012. It encompasses a wide range of musical genres, from bachata to R&B and mariachi, with songs in both Spanish and English. The album launched the hit Latin singles "Las Cosas Pequeñas," "Incondicional," and "Te Me Vas." Later in 2012, Royce released his first compilation album, "#1's." The following year, he signed to Sony Music Entertainment and released his third studio album, "Soy el Mismo." It became his third album to reach number one on the Top Latin Albums chart; moreover, it spawned the Latin number-one single "Darte un Beso."

Royce's fourth studio album, "Double Vision," came out in 2014. His first album primarily in English, it was supported by the successful single "Stuck on a Feeling," featuring Snoop Dogg. A second successful single, "Back it Up," features Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull. Royce went on to release "FIVE," his fifth studio album, in early 2017. Supported by such hit singles as "Culpa al Corazón" and "Déjà Vu," the album became Royce's fourth to reach number one on the Top Latin Albums chart. "Déjà Vu," a collaboration with Shakira, was an especially big hit. Royce had his fifth number-one album on the Latin Albums chart with "Alter Ego," which was released in early 2020.
