David Booth is the co-founder and CEO of Dimensional Fund Advisors, an Austin Texas based firm that has over $500 billion in funds under management. Booth co-founded Dimensional Fund Advisors in 1981. David Booth is famous for making the largest ever donation to a business school when he gave $300 million to The University of Chicago which he attended from 1969-1971. Today he is the namesake for The University of Chicago's Booth Business School. Booth attended the University of Kansas for his undergraduate degree.
In 2004 he donated $9 million to build the Booth Family Hall of Athletics at The University of Kansas. The Hall is attached to the school's Allen Fieldhouse. He has been married to Suzanne Deal since 1998 and the couple has two children. David and Suzanne made headlines when they spent $4.3 million to purchase the original rules of basketball written by the sport's founder James Naismith. The Booths donated the 119 year old, 13 rule document to the University of Kansas. Naismith founded the University of Kansas' basketball program and would go on to coach for the school for nine seasons.
