Early Life

Heather Deen Locklear was born on September 25, 1961, in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Diane, was a production executive, and her father, Bill, a former Marine Corps Colonel who worked at UCLA, was Native American. After graduating from high school, Heather attended UCLA and ventured into modeling for the first time.

Career

After becoming a model, Locklear quickly branched off into acting, starting with roles in series like "CHiPs," "240-Robert," and "Eight Is Enough." After forming a connection with film and TV producer Aaron Spelling, Heather booked many roles throughout the '80s. This started with the TV series "Dynasty" and "T.J. Hooker." By the end of the 80s, she was booking roles in movies like "The Return of Swamp Thing" (although she won a Razzie for Worst Actress as a result).

At the beginning of the '90s, Locklear appeared in series like "Going Places" before booking one of her most well-known roles in "Melrose Place." She continued to appear in the series until its cancellation in 1999. Aaron Spelling continued to cast her in numerous productions going forward, including "Matt Houston," "Fantasy Island," "The Love Boat," "Hotel," and the film "Rich Men, Single Women."

In 1994, Locklear hosted an episode of "Saturday Night Live" during which she appeared in skits alongside Mike Myers. She later appeared alongside him once again in "Wayne's World 2," although only for a cameo role. During this period, she also appeared on shows like "Muppets Tonight," "Lifetime Intimate Portrait," and "E! True Hollywood Story."

In the 2000s, Locklear began appearing in the series "Spin City," and she also booked a recurring role in "Scrubs." An appearance in the film "Uptown Girls" followed before Locklear booked a guest appearance on the show "Two and a Half Men." Although her next series "LAX," was canceled, Heather followed up with roles in films like "The Perfect Man" and shows like "Boston Legal."

During this period, Locklear became involved in producing several pilots. Towards the end of the 2000s, she began to make guest appearances in shows like "Hannah Montana" and "Rules of Engagement," before joining the cast of a rebooted "Melrose Place" in 2009. In 2012, she booked recurring roles in series such as "Hot in Cleveland" and "Franklin & Bash." In 2016, Locklear joined the cast of TLC's "Too Close to Home." In addition, Heather has appeared in films such as "Firestarter" and "Money Talks."

Relationships

In 1986, Heather Locklear married Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. Their marriage lasted for six years before ending in divorce. Her next husband was Richie Sambora, the guitarist for Bon Jovi. After marrying Sambora in 1994, she gave birth to her only child in 1997. Heather divorced Richie in 2006. After the divorce was finalized, she began dating actor Jack Wagner. Although the pair initially became engaged, they called off their engagement in 2011.

Health Issues

Back in 2008, police received an anonymous call from someone who claimed that Locklear was in the process of committing suicide. After emergency responders arrived at her home, they discovered that Heather was perfectly fine. However, authorities believed at the time that the anonymous call was from someone who was genuinely concerned.

Later in 2008, Locklear checked herself into a medical facility to deal with her mental health issues and went through a month of treatment. In 2012, Heather's sister called the cops to her home after she suspected that she was mixing prescription drugs and alcohol. Locklear was then hospitalized and released the following day. After a number of legal issues, Heather was sentenced to 30 days in a residential mental health facility.

Heather has struggled with numerous legal issues over the course of her life. One notable incident came in 2008 when she was pulled over and booked with a DUI. Unfortunately, a reporter photographed the entire incident, and these photographs were later published by TMZ. Although authorities discovered no trace of alcohol or illegal narcotics, Heather was believed to have been under the influence of prescription drugs while driving.

In 2018, Locklear was arrested after becoming violent towards a police officer. She also threatened to shoot the police if they ever set foot in her home again. Later in 2018, Heather was arrested once again on misdemeanor battery charges.

Real Estate

Heather lives in an 8,000-square-foot, 4-acre mansion in Thousand Oaks, California, that was deeded to her by Tommy Lee after their divorce in 1993. The couple built the 6-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom house in 1990 during better times. Today, the house is estimated to be worth $5 million. After threatening to shoot police officers who came into her home, it was later discovered that her mansion was in violation of fire safety codes. Police also searched her home for firearms after this incident.
