Most of us probably would not be interested in living in a home where multiple notorious murders were committed, especially if we happened to believe in ghosts. But Zak Bagans, the famous ghost hunter seen on the Travel Channel show Ghost Adventures, doesn't seem to feel the same way, as People reports, he's purchased the Los Feliz house, where members of the Manson Family cult murdered Leno and Rosemary LaBianca in August of 1969.
It's not known exactly how much Bagans paid for the house, but it was formerly listed for $1,988,800, so it's likely that he paid somewhere in that neighborhood. Why did the house interest him? It seems obvious why a ghost hunter like Bagans would want a house where such infamous murders were committed, and he told People that he did indeed feel some kind of supernatural presence within its walls:
"When I walked onto the property I was blown away by the panoramic views in the front and backyards … it's breathtaking…Yes the house has a very dark and gruesome history, but I was also intrigued by the energy I felt while there … It was mysterious and palpable."
The house on Waverly Drive dates back to the 1920s (a golden age for hauntings), and is one of the locations where Manson's followers are said to have committed murder with the intention of provoking an apocalyptic race war based on secret messages in Beatles lyrics (it's a long story). Since then, the house has had multiple owners, and was most recently listed for sale in July of this year – and the official listing didn't mention the murders at all.
Whether such a house actually has ghosts in it is a matter of opinion, but you can scour the real estate video from Redfin for clues of any ghostly presences if you wish:
