As you may have heard, actress Lori Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli were arrested a few weeks ago as part of a wide-ranging college bribery investigation. Lori and Mossimo allegedly paid the rowing coach of the University of Southern California $500,000 to get their two daughters in as recruits. One of the daughters, former social media star Olivia Jade Giannulli, even reportedly took a staged photo on an erg machine to demonstrate her rowing abilities. It's a completely insane story that we will be following for months to come.
You might be surprised to learn that Lori Loughlin, the former star of 80s sitcom "Full House" could afford to pay a $500,000 bribe to get her daughters into USC. That's because most of the family's money actually comes from Mossimo, who is the creator of the fashion label of the same name.
At the peak of the company's success when Mossimo's stock price topped $50, Mossimo Gianulli's equity stake was worth $500 million. The stock eventually plummeted to around $4 and he sold the company to a private equity firm for significantly less than half a billion.
Today we estimate that Mossimo Gianulli's net worth is $80 million and Lori Loughlin's net worth is $20 million, for a combined net worth of $100 million. Since they've been married for 20+ years (since 1997) it's somewhat difficult to differentiate between their respective net worths. But we digress.
When they're not bribing college coaches (allegedly), Lori and Mossimo live in a fabulous $20 million Bel Air mansion on a golf course. FYI, that's the same as 80 USC admissions.
They bought the house for $14 million in 2015 and then put it under extension renovation throughout 2017. When the renovations were complete, they attempted to sell the property for $35 million. They didn't get any takers.
Here is a video tour of the incredible property that was produced back when it hit the market for $35 million:
The couple previously owned a mansion in Beverly Hills which they sold in 2015 for $18 million. Prior to that, they lived in a Bel Air mansion which was sold in 2018 for $40 million to billionaire Ross Perot Jr. Sounds like they should have kept that house!
It has been reported that daughter Olivia Jade is absolutely livid with her parents for ruining her budding social media career and reputation. Olivia has reportedly barely spoken to the parents since the scandal broke and has been hiding out at her boyfriend's family house in Malibu.
