Early Life
Rich the Kid was born Dmitri Leslie Roger on July 13, 1992, in Queens, New York City. He is of Haitian descent and grew up speaking Haitian Creole fluently. His parents divorced when he was a child, and he then moved to College Park, Georgia, with his mother when he was 13 years old. He enjoyed listening to rap music while growing up and particularly liked Nas, Jay-Z, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., T.I., and Young Jeezy. He began rapping as a teenager, and his first rap name was Black Boy Da Kid. He later changed the name to Rich the Kid. He moved back to New York City to attend Elmont Memorial Junior-Senior High School.
Career
In 2013, Roger released his debut solo mixtape, "Been About the Benjamins." Later that year, he released a collaborative mixtape series with Migos called "Streets On Lock." Four volumes of the mixtape were released in 2014 and 2015. In August 2014, he released his second solo mixtape, "Feels Good 2 Be Rich." The mixtape featured artists Migos, Young Thug, Kirko Bangz, Rockie Fresh, Stalley, Soulja Boy, RiFF RaFF, Jeremih, K Camp, Young Dolph, Yo Gotti, French Montana, Chinx, and Kodak Black.
In November 2014, he released the single "On My Way," which featured artists Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel. A month later, he released his third mixtape called "Rich Than Famous." It featured YG, Migos, Bobby Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel, Gucci Mane, Johnny Cinco, and PeeWee Longway.

Personal Life
Roger was married to Antonette Willis until their 2018 divorce. They have two children together. Willis filed for divorce in March 2018 and sought full custody of the children and spousal support. She filed for divorce shortly after accusing Roger of cheating on her with Blac Chyna and India Love. She also later alleged that Roger had been abusive towards her.
Shortly after Willis filed for divorce, Roger began dating Tori Hughes, who is professionally known as Tori Brixx. In June 2018, Roger was at Hughes' home when several men broke in with firearms, demanding money. When he attempted to confront the men, he was beaten to the extent of requiring hospitalization afterward. In February 2019, Roger was robbed and shot outside of a recording studio in West Hollywood, California.
