Leif G.W. Persson is a Swedish criminologist and novelist who has a net worth of $5 million. Leif G.W. Persson was born in Stockholm, Sweden in March 1945. From 1992 to 2012 he was a professor in criminology at the Swedish National Police Board.
Persson has regularly appeared on television and in newspapers giving his expert commentary on notable crime cases and has auctioned several crime fiction novels. In 1977 he was a whistleblower in the Geijer Scandal regarding Prime Minister Olof Palme about Minister of Justice Lennart Geijer's connections to a prostitution ring in Stockholm. His Evert Backstrom novels provided the basis for the 2015 television series Backstrom, for which Persson also served as executive producer. He has won a Best Swedish Crime Novel Award for three of his books and also received the Glass Key award in 2011.
