Toru Iwatani is a Japanese video game designer who has a net worth of $10 million. Toru Iwatani was born in January 1955. He is best known for creating the arcade games Pac-Man in 1980 and Pole Position in 1982. In 1977 Iwatani joined the computer software company Namco. He created the idea for a video game called Pakku-Man which was changed to Pac-Man for the U.S. release.
In 2007 he developed the game Pac-Man Championship Edition for the Xbox 360 and said that it would be the last game he will develop. He also created the game LIbble Rabble. Iwatani taught at the Osaka University of Arts and became a full-time lecturer at Tokyo Polytechnic University in 2007. He holds a Guinness World Record for Pac-Man being the most coin-operated arcade machine installed worldwide with almost 300 thousand. He also made a cameo in the movie Pixels.
