Floyd Mayweather is known as the king of buying luxury cars, but this time he is receiving attention for actually selling one. Floyd is selling his Ferrari Enzo which will be put up for auction by RM Sotheby's at the Driven By Disruption sale in New York. Mayweather purchased the car in 2014 from its only previous owner who lived in Dubai.
Mayweather only drove the car about 200 miles, making it one of the lowest mileage Ferrari Enzos available at a total of just about 560 on the odometer. Floyd's Enzo is #295 out of just 400 examples produced. The car he is selling comes in a Rosso Corsa red color and includes a black leather interior.
The fact that this car was owned by Floyd Mayweather is likely to drive up the price. Another reason the price may be quite high is because the car has such low mileage on it. Estimates have Mayweather's Enzo going for about $3 to $3.5 million. The previous record for a Ferrari Enzo sold at auction is more than $6 million. That car sold in Monterey in 2015 and was made for Pope John Paul III.
Mayweather was attempting to sell this very car through his car guy Obi Okeke at Fusion Luxury Motors and now he is trying to get rid of it through auction. He paid $3.2 million for the Enzo, so it's quite likely that he will at least be able to make his money back. Mayweather listed the car for $3.8 million in June 2015 through Fusion but it did not sell, although three billionaires were said to be in the running for it.
The Ferrari Enzo was named after Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari. The cars were made in 2002 and were only sold by invitation to existing Ferrari customers. The 400th Enzo was built in 2004 and donated to the Vatican for charity; it later sold for $1.1 million. The Ferrari Enzo has a top speed of 221 miles per hour and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.14 seconds.
