Shila Amzah was born in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August 1990. She was born into a family of musicians and started making music at nine years old before releasing her debut album Terima Kasih Guruku at just 10 years old. Amzah won the Most Popular Kids Artiste Award. She won the Asian Wave which earned her 5 million MYR and a six year recording contract.
