Dik Wessels is a Dutch businessman and entrepreneur who has a net worth of $2.3 billion. Dik Wessels took over a small construction company that his father started in 1968. Dik turned the company into one of the largest builders in the Netherlands and merged his company Wessels with Royal Volker Stevin in 1997 which created the largest construction and engineering group in the Netherlands. In 2007 Wessels sold 45% of Volker Wessels to the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
In 2013 he bought back his stake and increased his personal share to around 85%. He has been a member of the management board since 1990. In 2014 Wessels was listed as the third richest man in the Netherlands due to his construction fortune.
