Molly was the talent coordinator, music news presenter, and on-air interview for the music program Countdown from 1974 to 1987. He is known for his trademark look of a Stetson hat. Meldrum had a life-threatening fall from a ladder in 2011 and had to be placed under intensive care in a critical condition for head and spinal injuries. He first wrote for the weekly teen newspaper Go-Set from 1966 to 1974.
