Born in New Ulm, Minnesota, in 1962, Terry Steinbach played college baseball for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, where he earned co-player of the year honors in the Big Ten conference. Steinbach later made his Major League Baseball debut on September 12, 1986 with the Oakland Athletics. He played with the A's for the next decade until he joined the Minnesota Twins from 1997 until 1999. Steinbach made his last appearance with the Twins on October 1, 1999.
