Born in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1972, Jonathan Coachman, also known as "The Coach", played college basketball at McPherson College and did commentary for radio broadcasts of various sporting events. In the late '90s, he began working with the World Wrestling Federation as a commentator and presenter. Coachman, who stands at six-foot-three and weighs in at more than 230 pounds, occasionally wrestled on camera, though it wasn't his primary role with WWF. He stayed with WWF/WWE for almost a decade until leaving in 2008 to go to work for ESPN. He hosted the afternoon ESPN Radio Show "Coach & Company", which ended in 2013, and occasionally anchors "SportsCenter". Coachman has also worked for the XFL, College Sports Television, the New York Liberty, and the New York Knicks. He was once a contestant on the popular game show "Family Feud" in 2007. Coachman participated in dozens of instructional videos that were used in schools around the country, including a video on how airplanes work. He and his wife, personal trainer Amy Coachman, have two children together, a son, JJ, and a daughter, Kayana.
